David Owen is the Research and Development Manager for the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement. He has played a leading role in managing Bursting the Bubble: Students, Volunteering and the Community and innovative study which engaged with over 5,000 students, looking at patterns, impacts, and outcomes from student-community engagement. He is interested in engagement and systemic approaches to managing change, and is currently completing an MSc with the Open University.

He has co-authored a number of papers on student-community engagement including student community engagement and the development of graduates attributes; Special issue of Education and Training (2011) and is currently working on a framework for assessing student learning from Public Engagement.  His other passions include football, and travel including any opportunity to combine the two.  In 2008 David visited the West Bank, Palestine with his football club the Easton Cowboys and continues to collaborate with the people he met there.
